Peeli Mung Dal

छौंकी हुई मूँग दाल

Ingredients :
1-2 cups yellow Moong dal soaked for a couple of hours ( nahi bhi तो चलेगा)
1-2 tsp oil
Finely grated or pounded small piece of ginger
Jeera andaz se
Salt, Lemon juice to taste
Finely chopped onions, tomato, dhaniya and green chillies

Method

Heat oil in a kadhai, add jeera and ginger. Then add the dal, add salt, about a cup of water. Cover and simmer. Check for done, we are targeting cooked but fluffy and खिली हुई daal". Add some more water if needed.

You can add red chilli powder or garam massla in case you like it spicy.
Garam masala, once dal is completely done. Upar se.

Bas, now squeeze lemon juice and serve along with the chopped onions tomato coriander and chillies.

A variation is when dal overcooks, i add all tge chopped stuff to the dal, mix it, make a sort of mash, spread it over toasts like a spread and serve with green chutney or sauce.
